Austin Jukebox in partnership with The SIMS Foundation proudly presents:

> Lyres [MA] - Boston-based garage rock band that rose from the ashes of punk outfit DMZ in the late 70s, Lyres are known for their high energy, trash-rock sound, led by singer and organist Jeff Conolly. Drawing on influences from early proto-punk and the British Invasion, Lyres craft a gritty and catchy sound that can't be missed!

> Oneida [NY] - Oneida are an experimental rock band hailing from Brooklyn whose sound revolves around repetitious elements and relies on antique keyboards and analog electric pianos. Currently signed to Joyful Noise Recordings, Oneida released their twelfth studio album, Romance, in March of this year.

> The Ugly Beats [ATX] - Formed in 2003, The Ugly Beats have been serving up their brand of 60s-influenced garage rock from here in Austin. The band released their fourth album, Brand New Day, in 2014 on Get Hip Recordings and are set to release their fifth record soon.

> Semihelix [ATX] - Austin-based dream pop/psych 90’s fuzz and delay collaboration originally formed in 2013, with melodic yet loud sounds including influences of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, The Pixies, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Sebadoh, and Black Tambourine. “I’m somewhere between Fleetwood Mac and Jesus Lizard”-Joe Pannenbacker, bassist. Geannie Friedman-vox/guitar, Joe Pannenbacker-bass, and Valdemar Barrera-drums.

This is the thirteenth show of the quarterly series, Austin Jukebox; with the goal of bringing together acts from different genres that are interesting, weird and/or cool, the aim of the series is to provide an experience that is unique, refreshing and something to talk about.

The SIMS Foundation started in 1995 in memory of local musician Sims Ellison to provide access and financial support for mental health and addiction recovery services to Austin music industry professionals and their families.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Crosspick Studio!

Crosspick Studio is an up and coming small recording studio based in Austin, TX. Crosspick will provide a welcoming and empowering studio experience for any band/musician, regardless of prior recording experience, and wants to work especially closely with members of the queer community, women, and people of color (however any band/musician is welcome to record at the studio, even if they do not directly fall into one of those categories).
