CINEMILITIA PRESENTS STARING DOWN THE BARRELS
F R E E
The aura of 42nd street lives on along Red River as the screening collective known as CINEMILITIA debuts its brand new series, STARING DOWN THE BARRELS at BEERLAND, TEXAS! In conjunction with Jukebox Cinema, CINEMILITIA is dedicated to bringing outsider programming to alternative spaces.
For our inaugural event, Benny Junko of Video Sanctum (http://www.videosanctum.com/) serves as our special guest curator, and will be bringing two RARE GEMS compressed from the finest garbage heaps!
UP FIRST will be Jack Starrett's semi-autobiographical HOLLYWOOD MAN (1976), starring the indomitable WILLIAM SMITH. Benny follows up with MADE FOR TV INSANITY from 1970 with RUN SIMON, RUN -- a rarely seen film starring BURT REYNOLDS, as a Native American who returns to the reservation from prison to avenge his brother's murder.
AND ALL PROJECTED FROM GLORIOUS VHS to maximize the super-haunted vibe!
Augmenting this experience will be Chef Chris Crowley, who will be selling gourmet variations of movie theater concessions!
PLUS - DRINK SPECIALS - talk to your bartender!
So, get there early! DOORS AT 8pm! EVENT IS FREE!
We'll have a special pre-show reel in tribute to the INCREDIBLY STRANGE PICTURE SHOW, compiled by Kyle Wall!
